RSKO Jakarta Conducts Health Education Program at Al-Hidayah Vocational High School, Depok
RSKO Jakarta recently conducted a health education program at SMKS Al-Hidayah Depok to raise awareness among students about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
As part of the educational session, videos were presented to support the learning process and engage students more effectively. The materials were specifically tailored to the audience, consisting of senior high school and vocational high school students.
In addition to educational videos, the program utilized interactive lectures, discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and prize giveaways for students who actively participated and successfully answered questions.
During the session, RSKO Jakarta's health educators strongly encouraged students never to experiment with narcotics, psychotropic substances, or other addictive substances (NAPZA).
Adolescents are considered a vulnerable group with a higher risk of being influenced by substance abuse. The teenage years are often characterized by curiosity and a desire to explore new experiences without fully understanding their potential consequences.
The program introduced students to the concepts of Narcotics, Psychotropic Substances, and Other Addictive Substances (NAPZA) and explained the risks associated with their misuse.
NAPZA refers to substances that can alter a person's thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Substance abuse occurs when these substances are used without a legitimate medical purpose or in quantities exceeding medically recommended limits.
The misuse of drugs and addictive substances can have serious physical, psychological, and social consequences, including:
- Substance dependence and addiction
- Physical and mental health disorders
- Social and behavioral problems
- Increased risk of overdose and other life-threatening complications
According to Mr. Naimun, SE., MM., Principal of SMKS Al-Hidayah:
"This program is organized to help students understand what drugs are and recognize their signs and dangers. The activity is scheduled as part of the school's educational curriculum."
He also explained that RSKO Jakarta was invited again because the school had previously collaborated with the hospital and received positive feedback from earlier educational sessions.
The management of SMKS Al-Hidayah warmly welcomed the presence of RSKO Jakarta's healthcare professionals and expressed appreciation for the valuable information provided regarding drug abuse prevention.
