History of RSKO Jakarta
RSKO Jakarta (Drug Dependence Hospital) was established through the vision and initiative of several distinguished figures, including the late Mr. H. Ali Sadikin, former Governor of Jakarta; Dr. Herman Susilo, former Head of the Jakarta Health Office; Prof. Dr. Kusumanto Setyonegoro, former Director of Mental Health Services at the Ministry of Health; and the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Indonesia.
The hospital officially commenced operations on April 12, 1972, in response to the growing need for a government healthcare institution dedicated to the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of substance use disorders. As one of Indonesia’s pioneering healthcare facilities specializing in addiction treatment, RSKO Jakarta received strong support and positive recognition from the community.
As public demand for more comprehensive healthcare services continued to increase, RSKO expanded its capacity by establishing a new facility in Cibubur, East Jakarta. The new campus was officially soft-launched in 2002, enabling the hospital to provide broader and more integrated healthcare services.
